They will often look like tree-living squirrels with their tiny noses, puffed cheeks, as well as bushy tails, but chipmunks are not baby squirrels. Eliminating Chipmunks
Now that you understand their weak points, it’s time to put your information into action. As much as these furry creatures wreak havoc in your garden, 1 can hardly consider of shooting them into extinction. There are generally many other ways to eliminate chipmunks so use your imagination.
An inexpensive chipmunk control option would be to keep a dog. In the urban jungle, cats almost always is an effective (and fuzzy) tool against these types of feisty fur balls. If you’re feeling adventurous, take your pick from badgers, weasels or even hawks. These are the natural predators of chipmunks. They stalk their prey in the shade and the poor chipmunk won’t have any idea what went down until it hits the predator’s stomach.
You can get a couple of comfortable size traps and just add seed, nuts, oats or what ever your chipmunk fancies. Secure the traps in shaded areas or where ever your enemy frequently hangs out. Patience is not even needed because where there’s food, chipmunks will appear. Once caught, drive to the far side of town and let the creatures out. Better yet, drop them off in the nearest national park.
If these don’t work, just provide these types of fur balls a taste of their own medicine. The trick to obtaining these chipmunks to leave your house willingly is to limit their food. You don’t need to strip your garden bare; just apply pepper solution or hot sauce on the vegetation and the places where your furry friend stays and surely, they’ll move out.
